On Vancouver Island, close to the historic waterfront village of Cowichan Bay, you will find the lush grass courts of the South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club. We are very proud of our tennis heritage. The noble game of lawn tennis has been played here in the beautiful Cowichan Valley since 1887, we are one of the oldest lawn tennis clubs in the wold and the oldest club in Canada still playing on grass.
Each year we are host to many tennis events for members and non-members, including five tournaments (three sanctioned by Tennis BC). This year we are hosting our 125th annual Vancouver Island Grass Court Championship. Tennis players from around the world continue to gather to play and share in the spirit of fun, friendship and competition. We welcome new members and encourage visitors, playing and non-playing, to stop by and appreciate our past and our present.
